GLENELG RIVER CANOEING
Millions of years ago, sea creatures deposited on the ocean floor compacted into limestone. Eons later, the water retreated, exposing the seabed. Water percolating through dissolved the limestone and formed the riverbed of the Glenelg River. Over time, the river has carved a meandering gorge up to 50 metres deep in the Miocene limestone.
